E 'with great pleasure that a wide public in my blog filmed chronicle of Kennedy's trip to Rome on 1 and 2 July 1963. This is the last journey of Kennedy in Italy and Europe. Kennedy is a sort of farewell to the old continent. The trip to Italy is interesting because it comes at a very special time in the gestation of the Italian center-left politics and the Vatican. The day before was Paul VI was elected after the death of John XXIII and, again, was the day before the government took office Leone, a Democrat Mono. That trip was part of then in a moment of transformation of Italian politics and kennedyana. On 10 June 1963 Kennedy had developed a new strategy for peace, which was delivered with the new to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, 11 June 1963 Kennedy had announced a new law on civil rights, some later, during a stage of his European tour, Kennedy spoke before the Berlin wall saying a famous speech. It was certainly a very interesting trip even as the Italian political forces were involved in the formation of a government left of center, that would be born at the end of the year. In this first part you can see the intervention of President Antonio Segni. Next to Kennedy we see a young Giulio Andreotti, Minister of Defence. Among the first handshake of the President, arrived at Heathrow at 9:45 am on July 1, 1963, we also note that with General De Lorenzo. I had this material in my home since 2001 or 2002. One Saturday night I found myself in front of the airing of this material. And of course I had not done miss the opportunity to register.
